Kate Bush – The Infant Kiss (fan-made video) – en français

Here is the video I made for Kate Bush’s song « The Infant Kiss » using the audio from the French language version of the song « Un Baiser d’Enfant » at the request of a few Francophone Kate fans.

WOW, didn’t realise she’d sung a version of this in French… I wonder what other songs she sang in other languages & what those languages were?

Just as prettythings89 said, I think that, in spite of her accent, -which is not disturbing and suit her French speaking and the song quite well- she sounds to be a good speaker! Anywho, very nice video, k8fan, and thanks for using the French version of the song ‘The Infant Kiss’, I’ve always wanted to hear it.

@henklie Her accent is strong but it’s very charming, it doesn’t bother me at all. :D

I think this is one of the best videos of Kates songs on youtube and I love this French version. Beautiful, disturbing, haunting, all the things that Kate is. How I love that woman.

French, English, German, Spanish, Chinese… Doesn’t really matter.
It’s the voice of God(dess) Kate the real thing.

  15. k8fan Says:

I just checked Gaffaweb. According to Andy Marvick, Kate did. She wrote it in French, then worked with French friends on improving the French language. Sorry if I mislead anyone.

  16. TomKay Says:

So who actually wrote Ne T’Enfuis Pas?

  17. martinekkes Says:

  18. k8fan Says:

As might be expected. Kate has a limited command of French and the translation was done by French-speaking friends of hers.

The song was written in English, then translated to French. She did write a song in French, « Ne T’Enfuis Pas ». The story in the video is from the movie « The Innocents ». It’s out on DVD, and you should be able to rent it. Great film and creepy as all get out.
